Galaxy of Friends – Press Release

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRIEST MARKS STAR WARS DAY WITH DOCUMENTARY SERIES

AMERSFOORT, May 4, 2018—Galaxy of Friends, a multi-part documentary series about the impact of Star Wars, will air its first episode on Star Wars Day, May 4, 2018, on YouTube, Facebook and on Trideo.com. Throughout the month of May, this five-episode production chronicles the journey of Catholic priest Fr. Roderick Vonhögen through the colorful world of Star Wars fans, collectors and cosplayers.

“George Lucas wanted Star Wars to be a story that would convey one of the most important values in almost any religion or myth: that of compassion,” said Fr. Roderick Vonhögen, host of the series. “I wanted to find out if Star Wars still succeeds in doing that, especially in our often cynical and hypercritical times. While filming my documentary, I was surprised and often moved by the positive impact Star Wars has on my fellow Star Wars fans all over the world.”

Father Roderick Vonhögen is a priest of the Archdiocese of Utrecht, the Netherlands, and works as a television producer and documentary maker for Trideo Media. His passion for Star Wars became internationally known when his reaction to the trailer of The Force Awakens went viral on YouTube.

The documentary was crowdfunded via Patreon.com/FatherRoderick and will be distributed for free on YouTube.com/TrideoMedia, Facebook.com/TrideoMedia and Twitter.com/TrideoMedia.
